Finding a Niche
A Super effective way to finding a niche is fully illustrated in the first five days of Site Build Its 10 day Action Plan.
Another effective method for finding a profitable niche is to do some research at a site called dmoz. This site has 590,000 categories of things people are interested in . Each category is broken into sub-categories -- each sub-category is broken down again and so on.
 In this example we will start with the broad category “sports” and drill our way down to a more targeted niche. If you tried to build a site around the keyword sports you would most likely be very unsuccessful. It is much too general and even if you could rank in the top 10 serps it is not specific enough to be profitable.
So we need to drill down and pick a specific sub-category (a niche). Suppose we pick the sport of golf. Golf may still be to broad of a category to try to compete in. However, golf is broken down into over 5000 sub-categories within it. So we’ll keep drilling down.“Golf accessories” looks good for this example -- so lets roll with it.
Next we will run golf accessories through a series of steps to see if it is a niche market worth pursuing.
The first thing we want to do with our new keyword is check its competition at google.

O.k. here we see that there are 2,240,000 unoptimized pages competing for the words golf accessories. This means thatthe words are on these pages but not necessarily together in the phrase itself. So now lets see how many pages are specifically optimized for the phrase itself. We do this by putting "quotation marks" around the phrase...
